Sometimes you regret to discover a band when it's too late...it's my case with Burning Winter. But is it really too late ?
Founded in 2001 by Viljo Rantanen (better known for playing in Teräsbetoni), that band offer good heavy metal. If you want to listen to something calm, they wouldn't be a good choice but for a
boost, for enjoying fast played music, they are definitly a band to discover.
They don't offer you music who will do a revolution in the heavy metal world but they play music with their heart and it will give you an enjoying listening moment for not saying a musical orgasm
and it's somewhere all that counts
The band describe them with saying « The strong elements of Burning Winter’s straightforward music are driving tempos, catchy choruses, thundering bass drums and strong melodies backed by
raw power chords. » I totally agree, specially on the drums part. That's how I love drums and when most people will focus on the guitars (who are btw really very good), me I was
following the sound of the drums.
In reality my only problem with that band, if we can call it a problem, is that I can't decide which song is the best, as there is something I like in the 5 songs I heard of them. I still have a
little preference for « Queen of the Night » and « Killing The Light ».
Beginning from the year the band annouced they wouldn't continue as a band, when I discover them pretty recently but is it really too late ?
Answer is NO, as it’s never too late for discovering good music « The artist may be gone but the music lasts forever ». The band also say « the flame of heavy metal music is still strong in our hearts. So Viljo Rantanen (songwriting, guitars etc.) and Samu Jalo (lead vocals) are going to publish some new music in the future as well. Be prepared! »
Count on me for being prepared and follow what the future will bring for them but until then, don't hesitate to go discover their songs.
