"Melancholy driven metal of desperation, self destruction and death. A plunge deep into the source of hidden fear and agony. Music filled with all the pain in the world to accompany you on your last journey you will never return from..."
Hautajaisyö was created in 2006 by the vocalist J. Partanen and the drummer S. Leinonen. They worked under a different name until October 2014 with the name REDEYE and they played death/thrash metal. They released 4 demos and an EP, that was released by Violent Journey Records.
After that, S.Kettunen joined the band in summer 2014 and the band decided to evolve their music. The new songs were made more melancholy, fast and more death metal. After that, the lyrics were changed to Finnish. The band decided to change its name also in Finnish and more suitable for the new style.
Hautajaisyö was born in October 2014. The band started recording new material that year and released a two song promo "Uneenkuiskaajat 2015 promo" in early 2015. After that, the band started doing gigs all around Finland and continued working on a full album. The band recorded the drums in Studio 33 in Kuopio and all the rest on their own. The mixing was done by S.Kettunen and the mastering by the band’s good friend J.Tuikkala. The debut album was only named "Hautajaisyö". Nine songs of sorrow, suicide and death.
The band released this album on 31.10.2015 with Inverse Records.

Let's talk about the album :
This album is really interesting.
Personally, for me it's 9 songs of pure ecstasy. I really liked the loud drums, guitars, loud bass and the big voice of the singer.
The rhythms change : some slow and "calm" parts during the songs and after you return into those fast and brutal parts of the EP.
If you want something powerful to move or to put you in a good dark atmosphere, this is an album made for you.
The changes among every music is not shocking, because the rhythm stay practically the same among every song of this album.
If you like grunts, big drums and some loud instruments, you will like this band and this album!
A group that you will recognize if you listen to their albums.
