Sata kaskelottia

Sata Kaskelottia is a quartet formed in 2011 in Helsinki that plays progressive metal and sludge. The band consists of a drummer/percussionist named Ville Salonen, Jukka-Pekka Kupi on bass and finally Eetu Kauppinen and Matti Kangaskoski on guitars, but also on vocals. They are about to release their debut album on the first day of 2015. Composed by 9 titles, it simply has as name « Sata Kaskelottia »

We had the occassion to discover that album composed by songs sung in the Finnish language.

Described as «raw, brutal and honest tour de force», this album lets us see after a complete listening, that Sata Kaskelottia is a band who can impress by their ability of changing the atmosphere at every song. There are also very good riff guitars, a good drum sound, a good bass and a "growl" singing who fits very well with the music. Despite the changing of the atmosphere, we can always notice a background music that’s quite "dark".

Of course it's the kind of music that you may like or not but for who likes metal and growl vocals, this is definitly a band to discover. Buying their album would also be a good way to begin a new year.
